今回は、Leica SL2-Sに「Summilux-M 35mm F1.4 ASPH. (11663)」を装着し、モデルの如月明日香さんと共に「モノクロでカッコよく」というテーマを追い求めた。

広いスタジオ、モノトーンの衣装。極限まで情報を削ぎ落とした空間で、ライカの「黒」が何を語るのか。その表現の幅を、ズミルックスという魔法を通して切り取ってきた。

This time, I paired the Leica SL2-S with the legendary Summilux-M 35mm F1.4 ASPH. (11663). Alongside model Asuka Kisaragi, we explored the theme of “cool monochrome aesthetics.” In a spacious studio with monotone outfits, I captured what Leica’s “black” reveals when everything else is stripped away.

今回の撮影で改めて感じたのは、ズミルックス35mm（11663）が持つ「黒」の表現力だ。ピント面の鋭さは維持しながらも、ハイライトからシャドウへ移り変わるグラデーションに、どこか湿度を帯びたような色気が宿る。

特にモノクロームで見せるシャドウの粘りは、このレンズ特有のもの。最新のレンズにはない、絶妙な収差の残し方こそが、画面全体に「ドリーミー」な空気感を与えてくれる。このレンズは、やはり唯一無二だ。

In this session, I was reminded of the Summilux 35mm (11663)’s incredible power to render “black.” While maintaining a sharp focus, there’s a damp, sensual quality in the transition from highlights to shadows. The depth in the shadows is truly unique to this lens, providing a “dreamy” atmosphere that modern, clinical lenses often lack.

中盤からはクリップオンストロボを使いつつ、あえてスローシャッターでブラす手法を取り入れた。僕がイメージしたのは、70年代や80年代のイギリス人ロックミュージシャンが、雑誌のグラビアで見せていたあの「光の残像」だ。

ピントが合った一瞬と、流れる時間が重なり合う。このブレは単なる失敗ではなく、静止したフレームの中から音楽が聴こえてくるような、被写体の内なるエネルギーの視覚化だ。ズミルックスの滲みが、この残像をより幻想的なものへと昇華させてくれた。

I combined a clip-on flash with a slow shutter, intentionally blurring the motion. My inspiration was the “afterglow” often seen in 70s and 80s British rock magazine features. This blur isn’t a mistake; it’s the visualization of inner energy, as if music emanates from the frame. The Summilux’s natural aberrations elevated this afterglow into something truly ethereal.

ライカで撮るモノクロには、言葉では説明しきれない「説得力」がある。如月明日香さんの凛とした強さと、ズミルックスが描く湿度。この二つが重なったとき、僕が追い求めている「カッコいいポートレート」の答えの一つが見えた気がした。

メリットや効率といった野暮な理屈を捨てた先に、この美しい残像が待っている。

Monochrome shot with a Leica carries a persuasive power beyond words. When Asuka’s dignified strength met the atmosphere created by the Summilux, I felt I had found an answer to the “cool portrait” I’ve been seeking. Beyond the mundane logic of pros and cons, this beautiful afterglow awaits.
