1. 境界線を越えて / Beyond the Threshold

大手町の静謐な空気に包まれた撮影を終え、私たちは光の密度が増していく丸の内へと足を向けた。
仲通りのシャンパンゴールドが視界に飛び込んできたとき、私の手には変わらず Leica SL2-S と Summilux 50mm f1.4 1st、通称「貴婦人」があった。

After concluding our session in the serene atmosphere of Otemachi, we turned our steps toward Marunouchi, where the density of light began to thicken.
As the champagne-gold glow of Naka-dori Street came into view, my hands still held the Leica SL2-S paired with the Summilux 50mm f1.4 1st, affectionately known as the “Noble Lady.”

大手町で見せたこのレンズの繊細な線の細さを信じて、今夜はこの貴婦人と心中しよう。そう決めて、光の渦へと踏み出した。

Believing in the delicate, fine lines this lens had shown me in Otemachi, I decided to entrust the rest of the night to her. With that resolve, I stepped into the vortex of light.

2. 溢れ出す光の粒 / Overwhelming Particles of Light

丸の内仲通りの圧倒的なイルミネーション。現代のレンズなら、一つひとつの光を完璧に制御し、端正な玉ボケとして描き出すだろう。

しかし、貴婦人は違う。彼女は光を制御するのではなく、優しく「溢れさせる」のだ。

The illumination of Marunouchi Naka-dori is overwhelming. A modern lens would perfectly control each light, rendering them as neat, orderly bokeh circles.
But the Noble Lady is different. She doesn’t control the light; she gently allows it to “overflow.”

3. 時代を止める静寂 / Stillness That Stops Time

煌びやかな通りの片隅で見つけた、緑色の公衆電話。
ここでの貴婦人は、如月さんを映画の主人公のように仕立て上げた。

SL2-Sが描き出す深いシャドウの中で、受話器を持つ指先の質感や、伏せられた睫毛の先に宿る微かな滲み。現代の解像力重視のレンズでは、この「体温」までは写せなかったかもしれない。

In a corner of the glittering street, I found a vintage green public telephone. Here, the Noble Lady transformed Kisaragi-san into the protagonist of a classic film.
Amidst the deep shadows rendered by the SL2-S, the texture of her fingertips holding the receiver and the faint bleeding of light on her downcast eyelashes were captured with soul.
A modern, resolution-focused lens might not have been able to convey this “warmth.”

4. 確かな手応え / The Conviction of “This is Right”

最新の現行レンズと比べれば、周辺が流れることもあるし、開放での解像力も一歩譲るだろう。スペックシートの上では「甘い」と評価されるかもしれない。

けれど、ファインダーを通して彼女を捉えたとき、私の指先には数値では測れない確かな手応えがあった。

Compared to the latest modern lenses, the edges might smear, and the wide-open resolution might fall short. On a spec sheet, it might be dismissed as “soft.”
Yet, as I captured her through the viewfinder, my fingertips felt a certain conviction that no numbers could measure.
