続・Summilux 50mm f/1.4 2nd｜試写で見えた「静かな滲み」と、三本のズミルックス。
The “Calm Flare”: First Impression and the Three Generations of Summilux
先日、新たなる相棒として迎えた Summilux 50mm f/1.4 2nd。あの透き通った前玉に惹かれて衝動的に手に入れた一本を、さっそく街へ連れ出してみた。
Following my previous post about the Summilux 50mm f/1.4 2nd, I finally took this impulsive purchase out for a spin.
三者三様の「ズミルックス」
- ● 1st（貴婦人）：光を溶かす「情緒」
光が当たれば画面全体が琥珀色に溶け出し、劇的なフレアを纏う。現実を「記憶の断片」へと昇華させるような、奔放で甘美な描写。
- ● 4th（ASPH.）：光を射抜く「現実」
冷徹なまでの鋭さと圧倒的な解像力。現代的なハイコントラストで、目の前の事実をパキッと、克明に切り取ってみせる。
- ● 2nd：それらを繋ぐ「静かな滲み」
今回試写して感じた2ndの立ち位置は、まさにその中間。貴婦人ほど暴れず、4thのコントラストを少し解きほぐしたような、非常に落ち着きのある描写だ。
実写で感じた、迷いと納得
正直に言えば、モノクロで撮っている間はその良さが掴みきれず、どこか中途半端に思えてしまった。モノクロなら、貴婦人のように溢れ出す光や、4thのリアリスティックな描写の方が、一目でそれと分かる強さがあるからだ。
To be honest, while shooting in monochrome, I struggled to see its merit; it felt somewhat indecisive. In black and white, the overflowing light of the 1st or the sheer realism of the 4th is far more striking and immediate.
しかし、カラーに切り替えた瞬間、このレンズの真価が見えてきた。全体が整えられている感じは非常に使いやすく、4thほど現実を突きつけたくはないが、貴婦人ほど光を暴れさせたくない――。そんな時、光を程よくコントロールできるこの2ndは、最高の選択肢になる。
However, the moment I switched to color, its true value became clear. Its composed nature makes it incredibly versatile. When I want something less clinical than the 4th, yet more controlled than the 1st, this 2nd generation provides the perfect balance.
「整っているのに、どこか柔らかい」。この絶妙なバランスこそ、黄金期のズミルックスが持つ魔力なのだろう。次はポートレートで、このレンズが人の肌をどう描くのかを見てみたい。早く実戦で試すのが楽しみで仕方がない。
“Composed yet soft.” This delicate balance is the magic of the Summilux’s golden era. I can’t wait to see how it renders skin tones in my next portrait shoot.
