手に入れたSL2-SとSummilux / SL2-S and the Summilux
昨年は、まさに「ズミルックスの1年」でした。7月にLEICA SL2-Sを手に入れてからは、そのポテンシャルを最大限に引き出すべく、ズミルックスをメイン機に据えています。純正ボディとの組み合わせは格別で、システムとしてのまとまりや携行性の良さに驚かされました。より軽やかに、より頻繁にカメラを持ち出すようになっています。
確実な結果を支えるCanonの役割 / Canon: The Pillar of Reliability
一方で、Canonを全く使わなくなったわけではありません。特に望遠域や、絶対にミスが許されない現場において、Canonの信頼性は揺るぎません。EF24-70mm F2.8L II USM と EF70-200mm F2.8L IS Ⅲ USM の2本があれば、撮影の約9割をカバーできます。Canonは、優れたAF性能を活かして確実に結果を残すための「完成された道具」として大切に運用しています。

マニュアルでピントを合わせる作業は、あえて手間をかける作業です。立ち止まり、構図を俯瞰し、意図した場所に光が来ているかを確認する。ズミルックスは、妥協して撮るとその迷いが写真に現れてしまうレンズです。だからこそ、使う側にも「本気で向き合う」覚悟が求められます。そこには、何物にも代えがたい「勝負」の楽しさがあります。
サーキットという特殊な戦場 / The Circuit: A Different Battlefield
AFが不可欠なサーキットでは、Canonが主役になります。ズミルックスの影響もあり、単焦点で勝負したいという気持ちから EF300mm F2.8L IS II USM を導入しました。この「サンニッパ」だけは、Canon機材の中でも「記録」を超えた「勝負」のレンズとして位置づけています。

自分が心から「撮りたい」と感じるものに対して、限られた時間と情熱を注ぎ込む。そのために、信頼できるCanonと、感性を刺激するLeicaを使い分けていく。素晴らしい縁に恵まれ、全力を注げる被写体に出会えることに感謝しながら、これからも一枚一枚を大切に撮り続けていきたいと思います。

CanonLast year has truly been the “Year of Summilux.” Since acquiring the LEICA SL2-S in July, it has become my primary system to unlock the full potential of these lenses. The synergy of a native body and lens is exceptional, and the portability has encouraged me to carry my camera more often than ever before.
That’s not to say I’ve abandoned Canon. Its reliability is unshakable, especially for telephoto work or situations where failure isn’t an option. With the 24-70mm and 70-200mm f/2.8L zooms, I can cover 90% of my professional needs. Canon remains a “perfected tool” for delivering certain results.
Manual focusing is a deliberate process. It forces me to stop, overlook the composition, and check the light. The Summilux is a lens that reveals any hesitation in the final image. It demands a serious commitment, turning every shutter click into a creative challenge.
On the racetrack, where AF is essential, Canon takes center stage. Influenced by the Summilux, I began wanting to challenge myself with prime lenses even in sports, leading me to the EF300mm f/2.8L. This lens is more than just for documentation—it’s a tool for professional competition.
I choose to dedicate my limited time and passion to subjects I truly want to capture. This means balancing the reliability of Canon with the inspiration of Leica. Grateful for the encounters that allow me to give my all, I will continue to cherish every frame.
